Question: When will the device be ready to commercialization?
Answer: According to our work plan, it seems that GlucoTrack will be ready for commercialization in the European market during 2009, after achieving CE Mark and about a year later in the USA, after FDA Approval
Question: Question: where can I buy GlucoTrack?
Answer: GlucoTrack is not yet available to the market.
Question: what makes GlucoTrack unique?
Answer: GlucoTrack is the only device which uses different technologies simultaneously, in order to increase the measurement's accuracy level. It is also the only device which can measure both spot and continuous levels.
Question: how does GlucoTrack work?
Answer: GlucoTrack performs three independent measurements simultaneously, each based on a different technology. The results are correlated and averaged, using a patented, unique algorithm. Then the final result is displayed on a back lighted LCD and memorized.
Question: which technology uses GlucoTrack?
Answer: GlucoTrack is based on Ultra Sonic technology, which is well known in the Medical Devices field. The experience gathered during many years of use shows clearly that this particular technology is safe and non-harmful.
Question: can a single device be used by different users?
Answer: GlucoTrack supports up to three users by a single device. However, since the measurement is calibrated individually, a Personal Ear Clip (PEC) should be used by each user. Different colors of grips are available, in order to distinguish between PECs.
Question: how frequently does GlucoTrack require calibration?
Answer: Re calibration of the individual ear clip is required every month. GlucoTrack will remind you in advance about the need to re calibrate. The calibration process is very simple, takes about half an hour and can be done at home (although recommended to be done by your clinician).
Question: is it possible to download data from GlucoTrack to other media?
Answer: GlucoTrack has two interfaces for downloading data: USB port, for desktop computers (and other storage systems which use USB), and Infra Red LED, to communicate with hand held computers.
Question: Can a person take the GlucoTrack on and off several times during the day? For example, if a woman wants to give her baby a bath, then put it on, then go swimming herself, then take it off during a special meeting at work? Or, does it have to be calibrated each time?
Answer: GlucoTrack acts like your conventional (invasive) device. You clip the Personal Ear Clip (PEC) to your earlobe, push the Start button and get a reading. Re calibration required once a month. You can take it off and on as much as you like.
Question: Is there any need for disposable materials while using GlucoTrack?
Answer: GlucoTrack requires no disposables. However, the Ear Clip required to be replaced every 6 months.
